Fake? Fictitious? Credible? Realistic? Deceptive? Problematic ?
AI Tribes is a series of sixty-four images in which I invent fictitious tribes with the help of artificial intelligence. These figures, both convincing and strangely familiar, act as a mirror where our collective memory is reflected.
To create them, I worked with keywords and historical, anthropological, and artistic visual references. Such materials are never neutral: they carry biased narratives, situated visions, and power relations. By combining them, the machine merely reproduces, in its own way, a human gesture—assembling and transforming existing fragments into new forms.
These tribes are neither true nor false. They exist in a space in-between, unsettling our certainties and questioning the very nature of creation in the age of generative technologies. AI Tribes is not just a series of images but a critical reflection on artifice, memory, and the ways we construct collective narratives.
